Who we work with

Growing businesses.
Busy owners.

GSB focuses on owner-operated service businesses that need better bookkeeping without building an internal accounting department.

Already using QuickBooks Online? We can assess your current setup. Considering a switch? We’ll discuss whether the transition makes sense.

Other compatible small businesses are welcome. The right fit depends on the work, record quality, and support you need—not just your industry.

Tax preparation and filing, attestation services, and client payment authorization are outside the standard bookkeeping engagement.

How it works

A practical path to getting started.

01

Tell us what you need

Share general details through the estimate request or by email. Kurtis will reply by email to clarify your needs, current setup and the next step.

02

Agree the scope and price

We agree a secure sharing method before any permitted review of records. After confirming workload and record condition, we provide a written scope, responsibilities and fee. Historical cleanup is priced separately.

03

Establish the monthly rhythm

After the agreement is signed, the required payment is received and onboarding requirements are met, we confirm ongoing access, document deadlines and the first close. Cleanup is handled separately when needed.

Your bookkeeping contact

Meet Kurtis Gapson,
owner of Gold Standard Bookkeeping.

Based in Milwaukee.
Working with small businesses remotely across the U.S.

I bring more than five years of professional accounting experience, including investment-fund accounting, reconciliations and financial reporting. That work has taught me to compare records carefully, investigate differences and explain what the numbers do and do not show.

Gold Standard Bookkeeping is my independent bookkeeping practice. My focus is monthly bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online and separately scoped catch-up and cleanup work. You work directly with me to agree on the work, responsibilities and price before starting. Questions that need your input are identified rather than resolved through unsupported assumptions.

Before you get started

Your questions, answered.

What experience do you bring?

I’m Kurtis Gapson, owner of Gold Standard Bookkeeping and a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor. I bring more than five years of professional accounting experience, including investment-fund accounting, reconciliations and financial reporting. GSB is my independent bookkeeping practice. Read about my background and verify my Level 2 certification on Credly ↗.

How much will this cost?

The fee depends on activity, accounts, integrations, the condition of the books and the support included. Monthly work and cleanup have separate scope and pricing. You review the proposed fee before agreeing to start.

Can we work together remotely?

GSB serves U.S. businesses remotely. We start with an email exchange about your needs, then agree on access, records, responsibilities and communication before work begins.

Do I have to send statements with this form?

No. Send only general information. Any review of financial records requires your permission and an agreed sharing method. Please leave account numbers, passwords and financial documents out of the public enquiry form.

Do you file taxes or authorize payments?

Tax filing and attestation are outside the service. You retain payment authorization. Any coordination with your tax professional requires your permission and an agreed scope.

When will reports be ready?

We agree the reporting timetable before work begins. Under our standard agreement, monthly records and responses are due by the 10th of the following month. Reports are due within 10 business days after all required records and answers are complete, the period has ended and any prerequisite cleanup is complete. Business days exclude weekends and U.S. federal holidays. Missing information or material unresolved issues may require revised timing or provisional reports; we explain those limitations.

What happens after I enquire?

Kurtis replies by email to clarify fit. If a closer review is needed, permission and the record-sharing method come first. You then review the scope, fee and agreement; required payment, access and start conditions are completed before work begins.

Let’s make the books
one less thing to chase.

Tell us where things stand and what you want to hand off. Kurtis will reply by email to clarify fit and next steps. Scope and pricing are agreed before work begins.
